This document sets out the different trainings that are available for the farm, and links to the relevant SOPs.
All staff within the company receive Induction Training on joining the company.
Any staff members who participate in production on the farm will receive Hygiene, Health and Safety, and Biosecurity Training, and will also receive training in the activities that they will undertake, which could be one of Sowing, Transplanting or Harvesting and Packaging (see below).
All full-time Farm Production staff will also receive training in the Farm Maintenance.
The training schedules and refresh requirements are listed in the Training Matrix. This document must be kept up to date with all training.
All personnel shall be adequately supervised throughout the working period.
Induction Training
The Induction consists of an introduction to the company, what we do and how we operate. Relevant training materials are found in the FU wiki
Hygiene, Health and Safety, and Biosecurity Training
This training covers the requirements for personal hygiene whilst on the farm, alongside the requirements for entering and leaving the farm. This training is mandatory for all staff and a requirement before they are permitted to work on the farm. The areas that will be covered are:
- The overall Farm policies as detailed in the Crypt Farm Hygiene Policy.
- Requirements and procedures for entering/leaving the farm as detailed in the SOP Site Access Protocol.
- Management/reporting structures on the farm.
- Health and Safety
Sowing Training
This covers the procedure for sowing seeds into the grow plugs and placing them in the seed starting tray. This training is a mandatory requirement before staff are permitted to sow seeds.
Transplanting Training
This covers the procedure for taking seedlings from the seed starting tray and placing them in the ZipFarm racks. This training is a mandatory requirement before staff are permitted to transplant.
Harvesting and Packaging Training
This covers the procedure for taking removing plants from the farm and preparing them for delivery to customers. This training is a mandatory requirement before staff are permitted to harvest or package..
Farm Maintenance Training
This covers the protocols for general maintenance of the farm and is mandatory for any operative who will be responsible for keeping the farm running.
Farm Management Training
This is for senior staff and covers the management of this wiki and the procedures for dealing with incidents and product recall.
